Information on 2012 Pageant/Eligibility
The 2012 Miss Tucson Valley pageant will be held Sunday, December 4th, 2011 at Rincon/University HS at 6pm. This pageant is open to all greater Tucson residents or students who meet the criteria
below.
-High School graduate (or G.E.D.) by June 16, 2012
-Aged 17 (by December 4, 2011) to 24 (before December 31, 2012)
-U.S. Citizen, Female, never been married or pregnant.
-For at least six months prior to the pageant, contestant must be EITHER:
a resident
OR a registered full-time student
OR employed full time (minimum 32 hours per week)
OR employed part-time (minimum 16 hours per week) and
attend school part-time (minimum 6 credits)
Judging Criteria
Talent- 35%
Interview- 25%
Evening Wear- 20%
Swimwear- 15%
On-Stage Question- 5%
In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the “platform”, which requires each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that she will serve
during her year.
In addition to choosing a personal platform issue, all Miss America local, state, and
national contestants are required to participate in mandatory volunteer work for the

As a commitment to our national charity, all Miss Tucson Valley contestants must
raise
$100 in donations for the Children's Miracle Network

Miss Tucson Valley's Outstanding Teen Contestants
Miss America's Oustanding Teen is a scholarship-based program offering
accomplished teens the opportunity to be awarded funds for college. The
program promotes scholastic achievement, creatiuve accomplishment, healthy
living, and community involvement for America's teens. In the past five years,
the organization has made available more than $3 million in college scholarships.
This pageant is open to all greater Tucson area residents or students who
meet the criteria below.
-Aged 13 (by December 4, 2011) to 17 (cannot turn 18 by July 31, 2012)
-No more than a Junior in High School
-U.S. Citizen, Female, never been married or pregnant
Judging Criteria
Talent (35%)
Private Interview (35%)
Evening Wear (20%)
Lifestyle & Fitness (10%)

each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that she
will serve during her year. The Miss America's Outstanding Teen program
continues this rich tradition.
All Miss Tucson Valley's Outstanding Teen contestants will be asked to pay
a $100 entry
fee to help with operations expenses.

PLEASE NOTE: If you compete in the Miss Tucson Valley's Oustanding Teen pageant and receive a title, you will be heading to Miss Arizona's Oustanding Teen Pageant orientation December 17th & 18th, 2011; Miss Arizona's Oustanding Teen Pageant is scheduled for January 21st & 22nd, 2012.
